Happy Easter

Postby Pitti » Fri Apr 06, 2007 4:37 pm

Hello :)

Now my holiday draws to be close. So here are again some new materials for RWFF. It's my last for the next time, because I will be very busy. :cry:

I've put the news in a package and did the same with my complete custom things.

Here are some new materials (some are modified from Pauls original) incl. a new treble hook:

Download for the new materials:

I have also put all my complete custom things like material and flies into one package to have it complete together. Here are pics with all of it:

You know it. Copy the materials into the RWFF tying folder and the flies to the flies folder. The new materials you will find at:

Hook -> Wet Fly -> Salmon Treble and Patridge,

Body -> Pittis....

Wings -> Special 1 + 2 and Feathers down,

Hackle -> Pittis....

All the flies are can be found at the Flybox -> Misc Wet Flies

The new Salmon Treble Hook works fine, but you have to make the thread invisible. Press repeatedly on the button "<" to remove it. It's easy.
Now we need some Salmon River. :wink:

And now Happy Holiday for all of you. Enjoy your family and don't fish too much. :wink:

And many thanks to Paul for this game. I love it. :)

Regards Pitti (Sorry for my english)

Hi :)

1) Look at this thread: http://www.pishtech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=202

2) Look at the master.ftc (Open it with the editor)

Here is my way:

1) I copy a material which is similar to my creation to a differrent folder. As "wing_down_duck_nat.bmp" and "wing_down_duck_nat.ftc" from the tying folder to "mycreation" folder.

2) Rename both copied files like "myfly.bmp" and "myfly.ftc".

3) Open the myfly.bmp, change it or make your own picture. Save it.

4) Open myfly.ftc with an editor like the windows editor. You will find this:

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
type = wing
subtype = Feathers (Down)
description = Duck Wing, Natural
blackout = yes
translucent = no

// Location of the shank where materials can be added
anchor left = 136
anchor right = 136
anchor y = 124
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

type = The main-type where you will find your material in the tying part of the game. Wing, hackle etc. ?

subtype = The sub-type like Hair etc. You can also change it to "My wings" or so.

Blackout: I havn't use it.

Translucent: Change it to "yes", if you want your material transparent.

Anchors = Here you have play with it. Change the values so that your material come close to the head of the hook. I changed only the "anchor right" and the "anchor right" values.

5) Save it as "myfly.ftc"

6) Copy both files "myfly.bmp" and "myfly.ftc" to the RWF-tying folder.

7) Open the tying part of RWF.

8.) Look for your new material.

9) Mostly you have to edit the ftc again, because the anchors must be adjust. Change this values, save it and look again. And so on..

Editing the ftc isn't the hard part. Creating a clear bmp is much harder, I think.

Hope this helps a little bit. :)

Here are some more flies from my website. Just put the individual folders
in your flies folder inside RWFF. Enjoy! :)

Tell me if the link works I'm not sure about this?

Very realistic your pattern. Do you have import the whole picture of the mayflies as material?
I've thought also about such trick, but I like more the act of imitate and tying using different materials. Anyway the pattern looks very nice.
Thank you :)

Thanks Pitti for putting the link right :) You can put fly bodies on the hook
but you have to change the fly.def to suit. Ido tie flies like this, I've sent some to Paul and he's going to try them out on his local creeks.
