Flybox Creation Problem Solved....Please Read!

Postby Yellowstone7 » Sun May 31, 2009 11:59 pm

Hi All:

I have solved the flybox creation problem after doing a little searching and experimenting. Here is one for the Knowledge Base and might help those who have similar problems as mine.

To create a new custom flybox I made a copy of the "flybox template", edited the names, food types, and other parameters. When it is all done I gave it a fly box name, a number to designate the order of the flybox,. The last step was to rename the extension from .txt to .fbx. That should do it and the RWFF program should recognize it as a flybox. The next time you go into the fishing program this new custom flybox should show up? Right? NOT EXACTLY and NOT ALL THE TIME, as in my case!

I did not have the "hide extension for known file types" enabled on my computer. You enable this by going to your Windows, Folder Options, View and then scroll down and uncheck the .....hide extension ....item. I then went back to my troublesome new flybox file and guess what? It had something like this for a file name.

fly_box_21_Stanley's Sculpin.fbx.txt

Notice the extra .txt that was not supposed to be there. Deleting the .txt and Voila, it turned into a file that the RWFF program would recognize. Now the nice Sculpin fly box showed up in my fishing program. I can now go after Barns' big fish again!

This is just another one of those interesting little quirks about the RWFF program. Hope some of you will find this information helpful.

Regards,

Stanley
