Sean and Kerry have pretty much summed up the strategy that I use. I mainly use the caddisflies.

I live in Aberdeen... virtually neighbours! Do you fish the Dee often? I've never fished it before but I fancy giving it a try later this year, once the brown trout season opens. I've also heard that the Clunie and the Gairn are worth a look. I fish the Don from time to time and enjoyed fishing some of the hill-lochs in Glenshee (a bit further down the road from you) last season.

I hope you're enjoying the game. Good luck getting those scores up too!

never had the chance yet to fish on the dee. but hoping soon. by the way have you tried fishing banchory or mill of straun.
