sounds in outing

Postby geraldro » Mon Apr 14, 2008 2:21 pm

hi all,

I want to put specific sounds to each of my sites, but I do not arrive there. In outing.def, I put all my sounds and in every site.def I choose one or several sounds which I want. If I make that, all my sounds contained in outing.def are played in all my sites.

How to make? :(

Thanks

Hi Gerald,

I havn't try random sound in different sites, but I used different loop sounds in sites.

Putting "SOUND LOOP=your_sound.wav" in every site.def will do the job. I don't know if it works as random sound too.
I would try to put the random parameter into every (!) site.def.

e.g.:
SITE1:
RANDOM SOUND=lalala.wav
AVERAGE INTERVAL=60
MIN VOLUME=30
MAX VOLUME=80

SITE2:
RANDOM SOUND=buuhhh.wav
AVERAGE INTERVAL=60
MIN VOLUME=30
MAX VOLUME=80

and so on....

Hi Peter,

Thank you for the answer, but with " sound loop " we obtain sounds in buckle and we cannot put that one at the same moment and the effect is not good.
Paul in his tutto said:

"Are you hearing the sound effects you want to hear? You can change their frequency and volume range in the outing.def file. If you want to add sounds to individual sites you can copy the "RANDOM SOUND" parameter group from the outing.def file and add it to any site.def file. "

I have tested, that does not go, that could be a part of a new update ? :D

I'll have to check on that. It ought to let you add random sounds to each site, but I think any specified in the outing.def file would also play at that site. To avoid that you'd want to have no random sounds at all in the outing.def file, and include all the ones in every site.def file. If there's a problem in the code that's supposed to handle that I'll make sure it gets in the next update.

Tight lines,

Paul
