Flyfishing in Berlin (New Outing)

Postby Pitti » Sat Mar 29, 2008 6:39 pm

Hello :)

Do you think flyfishing in Berlin is possible? Not really for the "good" fish like Salmon or Trout, but....

The 1100 m long Krumme Lanke can be found in Berlin. It holds no blue white fish, but many other species like Carp, Pike, Wels (German Catfish and new species in RWFF), Rockbass (new species), Rudd, Zander etc. This lake is great for trophy-hunting. Don't be scared, if you get the monster-bite of an Wels. Surely you have to know at which site there are. Somebody told about 60inch Wels and bigger. But this fish is never caught up today.

Warning: Do not install this outing if you are a hater of "trash fish" or you have no sense of humour. You will not be happy. ;)

Thanks to Paul for the Rockbass-Caught-Pics :)

Thanks, they are fun to catch when fishing for bluegills, especially when they are pushing 2#'s!!! Not so good to eat though, never tried and never will. As I like to say, better to have a fish on the line, then a client at work... if I worked somewhere that I would have clients :P

P.S. That bike was a beast!!!

If only they stacked up like that in Wisconsin!!! Then I wouldn't be on here so often... JK :D

Hi Peter,

very nice outing you have made. I begrudge you guys in Berlin for such rare species. :) I caught that specimen below but could not find a place in our Trophy page for it. 8) Please add it for us to the scoreboard !   ( Don't run away with the idea  ). I think it will be a enjoyable weekend for all who try out this outing.

Best regards
Guenter

Hi Guenter,

:D there are really other species at every site. And at some few sites can be found the monster-wels. You need to be very patient and have to use heaviest tackle. And also if you get the bite, you must have luck to bring it in.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for this outing, in France it happens that we fish for corpses :D :D :D

I was in Berlin in the 70s, I remember an very great lake between RFA and RDA, we would have said an inner sea, Berlin is a very very beautiful city with many park.

Peter,

Wonderful new outing! I really enjoy it. Now, I just need to catch 3 more tires and I'll have a full set for my pickup!

Thank you for the comic relief!
