Every time I go to check fish records or try to enter about 6 different venues I get an error that the game must be re-installed, so I did just that, started over removed the game and re-installed only to find that the error still exists. I just get a black screen with bright red writing that tells me to re-install again. Is there a patch for this? I am using an ACER PC which gave Me grief with another fishing game, should I re-download the game or install it on My other computer? I am using XP home not Vista as well, thanks.

That sounds like files are getting corrupted on your system, and since it's happened repeatedly that doesn't sound good. That could be due to a virus, failing hard drive or something along those lines. If you've got another computer I'd suggest installing there. Otherwise, I'd suggest running a thorough virus scan, and scanning your hard drive for errors. Defragmenting wouldn't hurt either.

Good luck!

hello,

just to make sure ithat we can exlude a simple reason for your problem:

if you saved the downloaded rwff file and reinstall the saved file, you must donwload the update 119 to get the game running

with older versions you also get that message

I am still getting crazy errors and shutdowns while fighting fish. Tried re-install, virus update and scan and defrag every week. I also tried to install on the other PC but the code wouldn't work, it said something along the lines of serial not valid. Another question I had was, does Your PC have to be internet connected to play the game? I get shutdowns if I try to stop all internet activity while playing which is why I ask.

If the game can be played with no internet and transfered to the game PC, I will take that route for sure, and just use this PC for updates and game file downloads. Honestly I have never had PC problems till I bought an Acer.
The game is running version 1.19 now.

Thanks for any help I can get to enjoy RWFF Fully. Sincerely John

hello,

i use an acer laptop

do you use a laptop or a conventional machine?

a few months ago i had severe problems which did not show any logical reason

after having spent dozens!!! of hours analysing and googling, my wife proposed : "take out that battery pack and try without it"

and look: the laptop was running without any probs batteryless - i ordered a new battery pack and all was good

during searching this,

i learned a lot about computer systems, but i am still a user and no adjuster

if you have probs with 6 venues, there might run a lot of trash in the background ( in the autostart)

trash progs are no virus and therefore a virus software won´t find them

try this - this is only an examination, not a repair ( for a repair you should ask the pros in thsi branch, i will show up later

Download HijackThis:

http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US ... s/download

install it

run the prog

click on " do a scan and save a logfile"

DO NOT CLICK on "FIX checked" - you only want to examin at this step

copy the logfile into this window:

http://www.hijackthis.de/en

if you see green hooks only, your system seems to be malware free

if you have red exclamation marks, you should go to there: ( in this case the pros should continue)

http://forum.hijackthis.de/index.php?langid=4

use the subcategory "english help"
