Guide to River Em (New Outing)

Postby Pitti » Wed Jan 02, 2008 1:15 pm

Hello :)

You know, the Swedish River Em is my big love. :D

So I have build an outing which shows the complete part of the famous private pools. In fact I've make it for me personal, but perhaps you like it too.

These part of the Eman was travel destination of many famous english flyfishers at the beginning of the last century. Names like Walter H. Barret, Anthony Crossley and William Lawson has fished this River at about 1924 - 1940.

Some of the pools bear their names up to date.

This outing contains the complete 14 pool-sites and every site shows a River-Map with a marker which shows the actual position of the fishermen (you). So you can explore the whole historic Em. (Some of the places you know from the older Eman-Outing)

I wished I would have the time to travel to the Em for getting better pics, but it's a long way. :(

Anyway, I hope you have fun.

Hi :)

I forgot, to fish "really" historic, you could try the classic pattern like Crossleys "Pilsener", Barrets "Supper Fly", Ankarcronas "Em-Punch" or the "Old Mans Fly" or the other special Em Pattern.

And take a bamboo-rod (select a brown color for the rod) ;)

I too have been unable to get into the river emer site, because of error messages. :( I have downloaded the site twice. Any advice?

Hi Erik :)

Sorry to hear about your problem.

In most cases of the errors the program is missing something.

Are you sure that you have all needed fish-folders in your RWFF fish folder? Open this folder:

C:\Program Files\PishTech\Real World Fly Fishing\fish\

and look for this folders:

AtlanticSalmon
Browntrout
Seatrout
Pike

If any folder is missing, you'll get the error.

Erik,

the Eman Guide is a stand-alone outing. You need no other outing to run it. I've uploaded it for you again to Rapidshare and hope this time it works for you:

http://rapidshare.de/files/38322607/eman_guide.zip.html

(click on "free" at the bottom).

Have you installed other custom outings and do they run? Only a thought. You use the Demo of RWFF at the moment, right? Perhaps there is a problem when using a custom outing?? Paul??

Ok, So I tried the link you supplied, but to no avail. I keep getting the "files currupted" page, and then the program fails.

Thanks for the advice, but I guess fishing in Sweden is out for me...

Pitti,

Message recieved. Please, do not think that I don't appreciate the help you have given me. I have be very remiss in letting you, and all the others, know how helpful you've been.

You have a great forum, and I'm sure that it will only be getting better.

Thank you,
Erik

No no... there must be a reason if it doesn't run for you.

Here is an Installer-Version of the Em-Guide. It's include the actual RWFF.exe. Download it, unzip it and start the installer. If you have installed the game to the default directory
C:\Program Files\PishTech\Real World Fly Fishing\
don't change the installer-path.

I hope it works. :)

Peter,

I tried the newest link, and it worked! :D I spent only a few minutes on the river, but it looked great! I can't wait to hook into a nice Swedish "Salmo Solar"!

Thanks for the help.
