Richwest's Flies

Hello,

Richard has tied some very nice flies. I've put them into the addon-pack.

You can look and download it at the showroom of the Clubhouse. Don't forget to update your browser-window.

Richards Flies

Postby oldtrout » Sun Nov 11, 2007 5:12 pm

I have downloaded the add-ons from the clubhouse. Thanks to all contributors for these.

I notice that the flies are in subfolders under Custom Flies. Can I just copy this to somewhere on my file system?

Where are custom flies stored anyway? I have tied two and saved them. They appear in my box, but where are they stored?

Thanks

Hi oldtrout,

You can find the flies here:

C:\Program Files\PishTech\Real World Fly Fishing\flies\

It's also the place where you have to copy the downloaded flies (subfolders).

Richwest's Flies

Pitti

Thanks for your help.

I know most of the flies are in the 'Flies' subfloder and indeed have already copied some extras there from some other downloads.

However I cannot see my two custom flies there. Should I be seeing them there?

Also do I have to copy each of the Clubhouse flies that I want to use individually, or is there a bulk way? I have tried just moving the 'Custom Flies' folder under 'Flies' but I dont think they appear.

Thanks

Custom Flies

All custom flies are assigned a C000 then the name wether you down load or creeate them your self as soon as you save them they will be in the flies folder Paul was going to look at a way to identify the flies better so we can use them in the club contests.

Thanks

Vista File Issue

Postby oldtrout » Sun Nov 11, 2007 7:37 pm

Thanks to Pitti and Bobcat John for your help on this.

I have now found the flies I created myself and yes they are in the flies folder with a prefix of c000_.

However with vista in File Explorer and also at the command prompt they dont show up.

I only found them by using the open function of the source code editor SCITE.

I have seen this issue with vista before. Files can be there but for some reason don't show up.

Perhaps it is some setting on my PC, if so I have not found it yet.

oldtrout.

I just got a new machine and I wish I had XP back I don't like vista that much it seams to me that Vista is making decisions for me wether I want it tio not I have found that I can't always find files I know are there Have some fun with the new outings and using your flies.

Bobcat John

My guess is that it has something to do with file 'ownership', which is a new Vista security feature (As in Unix/Linux/etc.)

The RWFF files and folders are owned by 'Administrator'; my 3 fly tying results are owned by me. I think thats why they don't show up.

I agree about Vista and XP. When I got this machine I was hoping to have it with XP but it came with Vista.
