Wow... I clearly haven't checked in here in way too long. A belated Thank You for the birthday wishes!
It's been a busy summer, including a lot of travel and photography for new locations. In fact I was supposed to be in Colorado right now but storms got in the way of the flights. I'm making adjustments, pushing things back a bit, and will probably end up shooting one more river on the adjusted itinerary than I originally planned. Last month I drove through 8 states to shoot 26 rivers and streams in the western US. Later this month my rusty, trusty tripod will drip into some waters in Ontario, Canada. OK, it's only a tiny bit rusty. A few of the screws on the lower parts of the leg are rusty from years of abuse, but generally the tripod has held up far better than I have any right to expect, considering what I've put it through. And by the way, if you're shopping for a wading staff, get a sturdy camera tripod instead. Well, maybe not, but many times I've caught myself in rapids by putting a lot of my weight onto the tripod. At times I use the tripod like a third, more stable foot. Step left, step right, move tripod and shift it until all three legs feel solid, repeat.
Thanks again, and light lines!
