Sw Wondrous Yaquina River Oregon 1

Postby rwwalleye » Wed Jan 13, 2016 2:32 am

Hi Martin, Stanley and Everyone,
Well I spent the past week fishing this outing. I spent about 10 hours total on this outing. One fish I hooked, which was the Jumping Striped Bass which if I'm not mistaken was developed by our infamous fish maker, Stanley, jumped constantly for almost 45 minutes. Using heavy tackle since there are huge fish in this outing, I thought I finally had this fish tired out and just about 5 feet out from me the fish jumped and didn't break the line, but threw the fly back at me. As you could see on my pics that are posted, there are definitely some huge fish in this outing.
Stanley did an excellent job with all the jumpers that Martin included in this outing.
Martin did an excellent job with the scenery, sounds and his currents. In a few of the sites you had to use trial and error on some of the currents to get the fly in some of the spots where fish were holding. I enjoy this in his outings, it makes the fishing even more realistic. Caught 14 of the 16 species on the surface and 2 of them I caught at 5 feet.
When I fish an outing my first thought is to make sure to fish all the sites. To check out the currents, sounds and the scenery. My second goal is to try to fish on the surface through the whole outing with the thought of trying to catch at least one of each species included in the outing. If that isn't accomplished on the 1st time thru, then I will fish it thru at least one or two more times from 1 - 6 feet deep hoping to catch the last of the species I missed when I fished the surface.
Want to thank Martin for his hours devoted to bringing these outings for us to enjoy and Thank you to Stanley for his magnificent jumpers. One of his jumpers even came out of the water and took the fly on its way back down. Thanks again for another most enjoyable outing. Will fish another one and will post as soon as it is completed.
Caught all 16 species included in this outing and caught approximately 50 fish.

Hi Roger and Everyone:

Geez! Thanks for yet another great fishing report! A fantastic job of catching some very nice fish. Yes, although I didn't do anything special with the Jumping Fish as to what they will do and act (Paul's genius here), sometime they do leap out of the water and smash the fly like a real fish would. The smaller size fish tend to jump more than the big heavy ones so there is bit of good physics built into the fish files. A while ago I was working on a Spring Creek outing and I was amazed that some of the smaller trout would actually hit the fly on the way up and clearing the water while doing it. Can't be more realistic than that in a computer game, right?

Roger, looks like you are the only active member around these days. I know we do have a lot of people visiting the Forum everyday but they are the sleepers, or silent members. Hey guys and girls, if you enjoy seeing what other people are doing maybe they would also enjoy seeing your fishing activities as well? So after you read this please do log into the Forum and make a post once in a while. Otherwise death silence is all we will get here.

Martin wrote and said he will be going on a long holiday in a couple of days. Where he is going has only marginal internet connections so he will not be very active while on holiday. Knowing Martin though he will have his laptop with him and will be scouring for future outings sites and new fish to add to our libraries. What he has done with outings creation deserves a recognition by the Genesis Book of Records! Thanks Martin for contributing so-o much to our entertainment and doing all this for free. For the love of fishing, some will say. THANKS BUDDY!

I was just wondering, has anyone heard anything from Geraldro or Chuck? I know they were having some health issues and I am beginning to worry about them as we have not heard from them for quite a long time. If anyone has any news please email me and let me know. Thanks!

Well Roger, keep up the great fishing. It is great to see some of the fishing images and activities especially at this time of the year.

Take care guys and keep in touch.

Regards,

Stanley

Hi Stanley,
Last night I started fishing Martin's Sw Wondrous Yahara River Wisconsin Winter, and after 2 hours and 3 sites I've already got 9 of the 16 species, Martin included in these outings. Martin has been doing a very excellent job on his currents, in most sites you have to trial and error to get to some of the fish that you site and really does make it a lot more fun and enjoyable and makes you really aware of how trout fishing can be difficult at times and takes all of ones skills to catch that elusive fish. So I will post in a day or two on this one. Winter is finally beginning to set in and between yesterday and today about 6 inches of snow is on the ground and about 15 White Tail Deer have been coming into our yards to feed at the bird feeders. Still working on my outing and after I get all my fish placed in the sites, I will send to you and see what you could do with the rest of it. Still having trouble with fish biting even with the updates Paul has given us. I do think that's because of Windows 10. Will stay in touch and will keep posting. Roger
