Jumping Shoal Bass For Chuck...And A Bonus Mayan Ciclid

Postby Yellowstone7 » Thu Jul 03, 2014 4:51 pm

Hi Chuck and Everyone:

I don't know where Chuck gets all the great pictures but he was kind enough to send me a couple of great profile pictures of the Shoal Bass. Chuck pointed out that it is very difficult not to mix up the Smallmouth Bass with the Shoalie and I will take his words for it. To me they do look very similar but there is a subtle difference in the marking on the fish. You really have to know your bass fish to notice the difference.

I came home dead tired tonight but I just couldn't help myself and decided to try to build the Jumping Shoal Bass after I saw the great profile pictures. Here are some pictures of the finished product:

And here we have a very pretty Mayan Ciclid that I had built for my Florida Swamps outing. :P The Mayan Ciclid is considered an invasive species in Florida. Originating from Mexico and Central America, it was introduced to Florida waters by aquarium enthusiasts who no longer wanted the fish but didn't have the heart to kill them. :P

Hope you will be able to catch these fish in an outing pretty soon!
