Hi Trout:
Welcome to our Tech Forum. There have been many threads written on the subject of correct RWFF installation (on XP, Vista and Windows7) and on how to install custom outings on this forum. Please start with this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2963In 90% of the cases you DO NOT need to reinstall the RWFF simulator. Almost 95% of problems related to non functioning installations are due to improper file path, and file missing problems.
These are the common problems of RWFF installation:
1) XP can use the default RWFF install path. Vista and Windows7 require a slightly different install path for the program to work. Please see the above thread.
2)Before you can use the Custom outings, you need to update your RWFF program to V.128 You can download this update at Pishtech website or at the club house.
3)If you intend to download and use Custom outings, you need to go to the club house and download, and install
ALL the fish, food and sound files and put them into their proper folders. If anyone of these files are missing when you use a custom outing, you will get errors which may result in seeing a error warning message, computer hang, etc.
4)Make sure when you download the food, fish and sound files that the downloaded folder has been expanded, and you copy the visible and individual file items into their respective folders. Food to Food, Fish to Fish, Sound to Sound. Otherwise you will end up with what we call a "Nested Folder" and the files will not work when they are Nested. (If you need more help on this search the RWFF Forum for "Nested Folders").
Hope this will get you going and will resolve some installation issues for you. Please look at the various thread written on this very subject and you will get your answers there.
Hope this helps!
