New Chatroom, Competition Scorer and Site Regenerator!

Postby Doc » Fri May 10, 2013 4:52 am

Hi guys

Well I've been playing RWFF for just 2 weeks (seems like a life-time lol) and thoroughly enjoying it. As a programmer I've been putting my trade to good use as well.

I was hoping to have a New Chatroom, Competition Scorer and Site Regenerator finished before I went on holiday, and almost completed them - they all work fine but just need a little tweaking - I'm just getting breakfast and then I'm away to Killarney for bridge competitions and a holiday in a big house with loads of Irish! Lots of food, drink and fun!

I will leave you with those tantalising thoughts - away for 10 days and then I will provide details and programmes soon after I get back.

Tight lines guys,

OK, back after all-day journey - we've both been ill for most of the time away and are completely lacking in energy. Hope to make a start sorting out the programmes tomorrorw if I feel up to it !

Doc: Sorry to hear that you and your wife were both sick during the trip.

Perhaps, Home, Sweet, Home will help you rebound. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

My best,
Boston Bob

Hi Guys

Well, we have a Chatroom and a Competition Scorer. All tested but let's call it a Beta situation for now :)
Let me know of any suggestions/problems.

First the Chatroom

http://www.chatzy.com/28880813496070

You do not have to register, just use any name you like and the password is paddlefish

(I only found out after I set it up that is allows 10 guys at a time and it's free, otherwise we pay - not really worth it)

Second the Competition Scorer

http://www.plus590.com/RWFF/RWFFv513.zip

- download and unzip the file
- place the 3 items loose in your main game folder

Your are then ready to go!

Thirdly How Do I Run This Stuff?

- login to the Chatroom and click on the chatbar (cursor will blink in the place you input text to chat)
- run the game (or it could be already running - that's ok)
- run the RWFFv513.exe programme (a little green icon with an 'H' will appear in your tray - bottom right of desktop)

You are now up and running - one or 2 simple controls :-
- make sure that you can see the Chatroom at the start
- ALT+Z will zero your current total score (nothing affects any of your game data/scores etc.)
- ALT+G will start the scoring part of the programme

If you want them, you also have
- ALT+T starts a 1 hour Timer - you will be told when time is up!
- ALT+C will send you to the Chatroom
- ALT+F will send you back to your Fishing

REMEMBER - the cursor must be in the chatbar or it will not be alive to receive the score and messages

FINALLY - How Do I Switch the Programme OFF?
Just right-click on the Icon with the 'H' in your tray and select exit!

Enjoy - please let me have any comments/suggestions.

Sorry about the initial problem - my first attempt worked in Firefox and Internet explorer - so I rather stupidly assumed that the advanced version would do the same!

Problem solved! The methods I used before worked for Firefox and Internet Explorer. BUT, when I changed to methods that worked in the background they worked in Firefox, which I use, and I assumed that they would also work in Internet Explorer - nope, Bill Gates strikes again!

Adding a few lines of code now has the programme working for both browsers.

Give it a try when you get chance please - same link as before

REMEMBER we are in Beta testing mode - let me know of any problems and I will sort them and reissue the programme. Also I will add features to it.

Cheers
