Dear RWFF Members:
I wish to thank Paul for creating this Sticky for us. Here you will find the instructions needed to created your own outings. I have made a series of four videos for you. If you were to follow the instructions I talked about in these videos, you should be on your way to building your very first custom outing. Outing building is fun and interesting. With a little experience you should be able to share with us the experiences from your own fishing world.
I might also mention that some people have had a lot of trouble using the new MS Paint in Windows7 to draw the needed mapcur and mapdepth bitmaps. One alternative I would recommend is the old XP MSPaint from the XP days. This legacy software is reliable and easy to use. I have been using this in my Windows7 64 bit system for a long time without any problems. You can go to this thread and download the XP Paint for your Windows7 system. http://sagorpirbd.deviantart.com/art/Wi ... -122788536A word of warning though. Please back up everything before you install this into your system. It is very unlikely that you will run into problems but you never know. You will install this at your own risk!!
After some searching and talking to Paul, the GIMP will also work for drawing these bitmaps. The GIMP is an excellent software but it is a little bit more Geeky than the old XP Paint and lacks the convenient line tool. You can try this one if you feel uncomfortable messing around with your Windows 32 dll files. I apologize for the videos not being perfect but this is my first attempt in making a video tutorial in real time without a script. It is hard to think, work with the files and talk at the same time! When I find some free time in the future I might go back and redo some of the segments.
Have fun making your own custom outing and I hope you will upload them to share with us on the RWFF Forum.
