Hi Fisherfolk,
The River is a Tributary of the Mississippi River and it is almost 525 miles long to it's headwaters.
It it the Largest river flowing through Iowa and it rises in Minnesota.
A Historic river with many prior names.
River Des Otentas from the "Otoe" Tribe, but the French Settlers named it as it is today as the "River of the Monks" after the Trappist monks who built Mud Huts along it's banks.
You are fishing for Brook,Brown and Rainbow Trout,Mooneye,
Pike,American Eel,Redhorse,Channel,Blue and Flathead Catfish.
Have Fun,Regards Martin.
