Species Trophy List at the RWFF Clubhouse RESET

Postby richwest » Sun Jun 28, 2009 6:01 pm

Hi to all RWFF Flyfishermen,

The Species Trophy List has been reset, a lot of records were not beatable anymore, therefore I set up a more fair ranking system
by rewarding points to the caught fish.

Now fish caught on thinner leader and lighter rod are rewarded with higher score points, because it is more difficult to catch on 5x leader with 7 weight rod
than on 0x leader and 12 weight rod.

So now it's more challenging to get a good score by fishing skills than by just putting on heaviest tackle and reel in.

Only scores after 06-29-2009 and update V127 are valid and have to be submitted by E-mail to richwest@casema.nl

Submitting is to be done by copying the complete caught-lines from the score_log.txt file in the real world fly fishing root-folder.

It should look like this:
Fish: 28.84 inch BrownTrout from Sw River Avon near Grangemouth Falkirk Scotland; Code: KWAZXTQQQWZIL0651UDHYHFSLVKDMKZLCZGVURMGOGVPNFSUBALEWDHXGYKZX

If you have used a non-shared fly, you also have to add the name of your custom fly, used.

Regards Richard

Hi Richard:

What a great idea, the scoring system. Will be fun to try to land a 60 inch fish on light tackle. Will have to give this a try soon. :P :P Can you explain how the points are awarded? Any formula for the calculation? I think many of us will be interested.

I will go ahead to submit my latest scores by email so the new score board doesn't look blank! I have a hunch that we will be filling those up pretty soon. Sorry, but that will means a lot more work for you. Thanks for a novel idea and your hard work on this new system. :P :P

Regards,

Stanley

Yes Stanley,

Ther eis a formula for the points rewarded.

Points are calculated as follows:

fish size+((((leader+4)/rod weight)*fish size)*0,5)= points rewarded

Hello to all!

Great idea!
I love using light tackle, especially for Steelhead and Brownies.
