Demo version now available

Postby paul » Fri Sep 01, 2006 4:06 am

We've had numerous requests for a demo version, and we're happy to announce that a freely downloadable demo is now available. You can download http://www.pishtech.com/RealWorldFlyFishingDemo.exe to install it. It's a self-extracting file. When you run the executable it will unpack the files the installer needs and launch the installer.

The demo version has 16 sites, 3 species of trout and a limited selection of flies. Challenge mode isn't included, and the guide advice is somewhat limited. Other than that it's fully functional. There's no time limit, so you can take your time getting the feel for the game. If you have fun with the demo hopefully you'll want to explore more waters. What's in the demo will give you a taste, but it's less than 5% of the number of fishing sites in the Deluxe Edition.

Users and other fly fishing web sites are welcome to distribute the demo version freely, as long as it is unaltered.

I just enabled avatars on the web board. You can edit your profile and select an image to upload from your machine. You can also link to an avatar image located elsewhere on the web. The image should be 80 x 80 pixels. That picture will show up next to all your postings on the board.

If you downloaded the demo in the first couple days after it was announced, you may have an incomplete copy. That installation was missing a file and it would hang up when you try to change flies. That's been corrected. So has the URL to the file to download (which appeared altered due to an anti-spam function in the original post.) Again, here's the link:
